Details

Ritual Mood: Cool, clear, refreshing

Category: Botanical Hydration Tonic

Best Time: Late morning, afternoon, or warm weather

Method

Blend the cucumber, lime juice, basil, coconut water, and filtered water until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve if you prefer a clearer tonic. Taste and add a small amount of honey or agave only if necessary.

Fill two glasses with ice and divide the cucumber mixture between them. Top with sparkling water and stir gently. Garnish with cucumber ribbons and fresh basil.

Notes

For an even brighter finish, add a small amount of fresh lemon juice. Prepare the cucumber base ahead of time and refrigerate it, but add the sparkling water just before serving.

Caution

Coconut water contains naturally occurring potassium and may not be suitable for everyone with kidney disease or specific potassium restrictions. Lime and basil may also interact with some medications, so seek professional advice when needed.

Benefits

May support fluid intake and help add variety to a hydration routine. Cucumber and lime contribute a fresh flavour, while coconut water may provide naturally occurring electrolytes. The recipe is intentionally lightly sweetened and should be considered a refreshing beverage rather than a treatment.

For Best Benefits

Serve this tonic in a chilled glass and take it outdoors. Allow yourself a few uninterrupted minutes to cool down and return your attention to the present moment.
